Julien Boyé and Yohan Barata are the founders of the « Educ autour du monde » / « Educators around the world » association. A few years after their immersion in Qosqo Maki, they come back to their experience in the institution and more generally to the work realized by the association, highlighting testimonies of social workers from all the continents and practices of these professionals who supports the most vulnerable populations.

Dear all,

After our second intervention at the NGO Magna, we want to inform you about our work and his evolution. We have been in contact with the coordinator of the programs in Magna, for almost 2 years now. We arrived in the organization the 15 of July and discussed our involment with him.

Presentation of Magna Children at Risk

From the middle of July to the middle of august, we worked in Magna NGO in Cambodia. Second of our 5 partner organization, Magna work mostly with young and children affected by HIV. Located in the suburb of Phnom Penh, the group home host 47 children and give them the affection and the medical support necessary to fight against the virus. It´s in this structure that we worked at full time during 4 weeks.

Our work in this organization

After one week of being in contact and getting to know the children, little by little we were able to apply some new techniques with any who were interested.
We made lot of different workshop with them. One was in the kitchen,  children made their own cakes and got to eat them too. They were required to purchase the ingredients needed, learn about proper hygiene and how to be responsible for everything required when in the cooking. An another one was sports workshop.
Lots of physical activity. Very demanding, the children seemed very happy to participate in all the activities offered. Living in the group Home 24h/24, we shared the daily live with the children and learned a lot about the disease, her evolution, and the treatments available.
Nevertheless, we had some understanding difficulty and it was sometimes difficult to speak about their issues with the children. Even though we had difficulty with the language, we had an excellent time at Magna, both professionally and personally.

Work prospect

As in the organization Qosqo Maki in Peru, we are working on the realization of a clip video to present the Group Home with some of our interviews and pictures of daily activity. All of the clip will be available at the beginning of 2014.

From the 17 September, we start working in the association Pomme-Cannelle in Nepal, specialized in the work with children from the street in Katmandu.

Recently, we finished the trailer of our intervention in Qosqo Maki, Peru. Thi sshort movie show the big lines of our work, pending the final documentary. You can consult it on this link :

Después de nuestra segunda intervención en la ONG Magna, queremos informar a ustedes acerca de nuestro trabajo y evolución del mismo.

La organización " Magna Children at Risk ":

Segunda de nuestras cinco estructuras, Magna es una organización que
trabaja principalmente con niños y jóvenes que sufren de VIH. Ubicado en el suburbio de Phnom Penh, el "Group Home" es una casa de niños que alberga a 47 jóvenes a tiempo completo dándoles un acompañamiento  día a día con la ayuda medicinal necesaria para luchar contra la enfermedad. Es en esta organización que permanecimos durante 4 semanas desde el 15 de julio 2013.

Nuestro trabajo en ésta organización:

Después de un periodo de observación rápida hemos establecido el contacto con éstos jóvenes en solicitud perpetua de consideración.
Posteriormente, hicimos talleres lúdicos y educativos como actividades físicas o actividades de cocina, viviendo en la casa con los  niños las 24 horas.  Se ha  compartido el día  con los jóvenes y aprendido mucho sobre la  enfermedad,  evolución y los tratamientos disponibles. Sin embargo hemos podido observar que pocos de los niños hablan Inglés, entonces el idioma fue a veces una barrera para poder comunicarnos con ellos.

Perspectivas de trabajo:

De la misma manera que en Cusco, con la organización Qosqo Maki, trabajamosen la realización de un  video clip de la estructura, mezclando las entrevistas e imágenes del día. Éste será disponible a principios del año 2014. Desde el 17 septiembre, hemos empezado nuestra intervención en Nepal con la organización "Pomme-Cannelle", especializado en  trabajo con los niños en situacion de calle en Katmandou.

Hace poco, hemos terminado el tráiler de nuestra intervención en Qosqo Maki,Peru. Esta corta película muestra las grandes líneas de nuestro trabajo en esta organización hasta que viene el documentario final.

* Social workers interviews throughout the world

* Work in socials organizations

In conformity with our partnership agreement, we already worked 3 weeks in Cusco, Peru, in the organization Qosqo Maki. We are actually working on the video about our experience in this organization. Unfortunately, it’s not always possible to get an internet connection which explains the delays to post the video but it will come soon !

From the middle of july and during four weeks, we will be in Cambodia, working in the NGO Magna which host children affected by HIV.


Five more months to travel, we will keep you informed about our actions.

Hoy día en Tailandia después 11 meses de viaje, queremos informar a ustedes de la evolución de nuestro proyecto “Educadores por el mundo”.

* Entrevistas de trabajadores sociales por el mundo

Seguimos nuestro trabajo de investigación encontrando trabajadores sociales en cada país donde viajamos. Hasta hoy, hemos entrevistado 23 profesionales del sector social en 17 países y 3 continentes. * Inmersiones en los organismos socio-educativos

De acuerdo con nuestras convenciones firmadas con las organizaciones trabajando en el sector de la protección de la infancia, ya trabajamos 3 semanas en la organización Qosqo Maki en Perú. Estamos realizando un clip video a cerca de nuestra experiencia en esta asociación. Desafortunadamente, algunas problemas informáticas y una mala conexión internet explican este retrasó.

Estamos igualmente en contacto con el coordinador del ONG Magna en Cambodia. A partir de julio y durante 4 semanas, trabajaremos en esta organización que recibe niños que sufran del VIH.

Seguiremos informar a ustedes de la evolución de nuestras acciones durante los cincos meses de viaje hasta nuestra llegada en Francia.
